can i ask where ya got it? and i read somewhere that the stock alternator is not internally regulated, the trucks actually uses the computer as a regular so a higher amp alternator messes that all up, any truth to this?My alt is an iraggi 225. Actually puts out right at 235 amps. Ive run ~8k watts off this alt without issues, so it should be plenty for you.
No. Most cars, truck are controlled by the computer but they are only controlling the voltage of the Alt not the amps. and if your running 8k off a 225, i should be able to run 2500-3000 off a 200-225

And I secound the excessive amerage. I have one running on my truck for the past 4 years now.
I got mine off ebay. Not sure if they still do that or not. But they did before excessive would put an add up and you just tell them make model so on so on.where did you get yours, and what truck?

they used that alt on a ton of different chrysler engines though. 2.2/2.5, 2.0/2.4, 3.9/5.2/5.9, ans some 3.0 and 3.3/3.8. The 4.7 has a different mounting design
