basically im being a cheap bastard, stock alt is 136amps, i can get another one for 125$, so i figured dual alts at 270amps with a yellow top under the hood and 2-3 intimidators in the back should cover 4k watts and under. problem is i can't find a dual alternator kit or even anyone whos ever done it for a 4.7 dodge ram.

You do know that you are really not getting a full 136 amps out of the stock alts. Just like most stock alts in all cars really only put out what is needed. Id say you are getting more like 80 90 amps max out of the stock alts.... Just go save up a bit and buy an aftermarket 200 -300 alt. I would say a excessive amperage alt. I have one and know of many others running them without any problems..Good for the price.

You are going to have serious problems cramming 2 alts on the 4.7 in a Ram. I have the same truck and honestly dont see how it's possible without serious modification or removing parts.

Just buy an alt...I also have an MLA module for the 4.7 Id sell ya for $150 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

where did you get your 225 at? and can i possibly get a 260... and would 260amp support an IA 40.1 or a saz3000?

I have a iraggi 260 in my 04 ram, and it is way more than enough to run a 3000d. Also keep in mind that your running off your batts, not your alt. unless your running all out for extended periods.

there are guys that run 2-3k with stock alts all the time, they have the big 3 done and a good batt.

well in that case, with a yellow top under the hood and 2 of the 9a31 intimidators in the back could i run a saz3000? stock 136amp alt? i NEVER play my music with the car off, only when im driving, dunno if that makes a big diff or not.

Also. Just think after you going through all the fab work brackets and all different belts mabye even another idler pulley. Bet you be just around the same price as getting an aftermarket 200 300 amp alternator.

Im sure that be fine. Do the big three also with o guage an mabye extra ground cables and you should be fine.

ehh yes and no, i have the added benefit of having a father whos a welder and works in a machine shop, alot of "Scrap" material lying around lol fabrication would have been the easy part actually, its the electrical part im not great with.

oh my bad to me thats one of those assumed things if you going to run anything over like 300watts lol, already done in 1/0, im only running like 200w right now but i got the terminals and cable for free so i figured i might as well do it.

ok WELL... yellow top under hood, deka intimidator in the back, support a AQ2200 or a saz1500 on stock alt? thinking about 2 sd2.5 15's off a saz1500, an hd3c 15 off the aq2200 OR... 2 mj18m's off a zx1500, but combined with front stage (300w) still going to push between 1900-2400w... with a yellow top and a deka that should be ok right?
