dual 6 ohm what to run at??

i've got a ALUM12Q and its a dual 6ohm and i was wondering if i culd run it at 2 ohm. i think its not possible...

not possible, only 3 ohm in parallel or 12 ohm in series.

ive got an audiobahn A8000T and it says either 4 ohm 400x1 or 2 ohm 800x1... when i run it do you think i culd set it inbetween 4 and 2 to run a 3

You do not need to worry about "setting" the amp to anything, it will automatically sent as much power as it can into the load it is given. It will most likely give you around 600W RMS into the 3 ohm load though.

wire the sub's voice coils in parallel, then take 2 wires, 1 from the positive and 1 from the negative, and hook them up to the amplifier.

It will work just fine. Wire the voice coils in parallel (positive to positive, negative to negative) and then take a wire from each pair and put the positive to the positive on the amp and negative to the negative on the amp. The amp will be fine and you should get somewhere around 600 watts.
