750W vs 1500W on W7, can you tell the difference?

Alright, as you guys know I have a 12W7 on my BEtter Audio 1600M1 amp which gives my W7 around 750W @ 3ohms and it sounds great. I am looking on selling my amp and picking up a Phoenix Gold Tantrum 1200.1 which is rated around 1500W @ 2-4ohms so I'll be putting 1500+watts to my W7. Will I be able to tell a difference in setups or will getting the PG just add to the danger of blowing the W7? Let me know, thanks.

P.S. If I got a second 12W7, would the PG be stable at 1.5ohms?

Theoretically, the difference would be 3db (double the power). But, it really depends on when power compression sets in and the such.......

Real world, probably expect around 1-2db difference....which is noticeable.

Also, power handling is box dependent. So have someone run your sub and box size through their program and make sure that the added power won't push the sub past it's mechanical limits.
