Sucks, pop open the case with a butter knife and see if it's anything simple... like the battery/hard drive getting disconnected from impact.

Man have I been there. Sucks the big one. I dropped my first iPod but it landed perfectly flat and fried the HD. When it landed it did no physical damage so I was able to get it warrantied //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I still have the replacement and it works great (2nd gen from 2001)

apple store=free ipod... if there's not physical damage, say that it sounds like there's something loose in it, and that'd you'd like a new one.

oh don't be emo, go to the apple store, it's worth a try, i've gotten numerous free ipods from them over the years.
