Driving & Saving Gas

Pay attention to the tach, especially in your automatic.

In my car, and many others I've driven, it won't upshift if you're hard on the gas; backing off the pedal for a second seems to let it synch into a better gear; 50mph in 4th @ 1600rpm for the win.

i get like 15MPG on my 4cyl so i guess i shouldnt chime in //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
(no, nothing is wrong with the car, i just have a lead foot)

wow...even with a lead foot...15 MPG on a 4 cyl...thats amazing.

I heard CC is good only on flat land surface but it sucks only around hills or something like that
Because the CC works to maintain a steady velocity, and when you reach a hill or something that works against maintaining it, instead of 13% throttle you had, it pumps it to like 70% to ensure the speed it kept, and if it's not, then it ups the throttle and downshifts, upping the RPM's and ******* up gas, just to get up a hill. If you are on a flat surface, then you can imagine that a constant RPM and fuel flow will be better than a varying RPM and fuel flow.

Yea it is pretty amazing. I got around 40mpg in the civic I was driving with a lead foot.

d15b7 in a '94 DX sedan FTW biotches.

Now I'm in a Tahoe though

do a search even in this forum and increaseing MPG will pop up somewhere....

Basicly the cheap steps are find a surgar daddy or momma.....

Perform all required servicies on vehicle

properly inflate tires

try not to accelerate, decelerate, or stop unless you have to

Plan to travel when there is the least traffic and adverse weather conditions on road

there are a lot more priceier options as well I spent close to 2k just to get my fuel eff up from 10mpg to 12 and there is nothing wrong with my truck its just got a really big motor that isn't uber effciant at conservation but is at power.

My latest resolution to my gas proble has been to bite it hard and pay up by try to drive the truck only when needed won't matter end of this month motocycle season opens!

if i baby my car i can get almost 20 mpg in town, the way i usually drive though, its more like 10-12.

i dont go around hammering the gas everywhere but if im accelerating to more than 40, i get into it a little bit. dont really worry about mileage because its so ****ed fun.

i think most of the little tricks for saving gas have been mentioned here.
