Dreams Shot down...

Hmm I bought a fuel pump for a Sentra from a kentucky Junkyard a long time ago. I wish I could remember the name. I found them on Car-part.com. Good people great prices. 35 shipped for the Fuel sending unit

 
Alot of room for junk then. I have to go back north to my home town this weekend. If I remember Ill call a few of my local yards to see if they have one and how much. Then ill let you know.

I would appreciate that, but I am still not certain if it is the knock or the EGR. Tomorrow Iam going to check the power on the solenoid, and try some other stuff. I might have to go somewhere and hook it up and see whats wrong. I took it to autozone but they can only read obd-II cars.

 
I was gonna test the EGR first, because everyone told me that if you had an EGR problem, then the computer will pick up a knock senor problem too, however if you fix the EGR, there might not be a KS problem

 
I had plans to get a decent system, maybe a 15" type r and... don't know what kinda amp, I didn't have enough time to decide. I had all my money planned out... and then my car strikes again:furious: I was at school, and it was lunch time, so I went out to my car and started her up. Backed out of my spot and took off down the road. Get to the stop sign and put it in neutral to rev it up, since the engine was still cold. Well I put it in neutral, give it a little gas, but the car takes off:eyebrow: Double checked my shift position, it was on the [N] so I was tryed to rev it up again... again the car took off. So I left it in neutral and gave it gas, driving down the road at 40mph now, and the engine is about to redline, it wont go to second, so I put it back in [D] and it shifted:eyebrow:

So I make it to Burger King and go inside and eat my lunch. Go back out to my car start it up and back out, put it in [N] to see if it will rev, and it does, drive a little bit and I check again. Now it is running just as normal, except my check engine light comes on:furious: So I get home and check the ECU knowing that the ****** is going to have to be replaced, but according to some nissan forums, they say that my codes from the ECU indicate Knock Sensor and an EGR solenoid valve problem:crazy: So I am going to be spending all my tax money and have to sell the crappy system I have just to keep my car running:crap:

I went out to the car to check the power going to the solenoid. Could find the right wire. I checked all the vacuum lines and everything. I Find the wiring, and it was connected by a clip. I wiggled it around for a little while trying to get it out, it wouldnt come off. I finnally quit. I started my car up and looked for the check engine light, but it never came on. So I turned the car off and turne it back on, still no check engine light. So I let it run for a while, drove it down the road and back let it run some more. Rev'd the engine up for a while. Shut the car off turned it back on and still no light. I guess some wires were loose or something. Maybe the vacuum line was not on all the way or something.

 
yeah that happens a lot with nissans. But for future reference, check linkage before having any transmission work done, cuz my mom brought her maxima up to a shop wanting to know why her ****** didnt go into gear right, and they quoted her like 2 grand for a new ******, and i took a look at it, adjusted the linkage, and she shifts like new again.

I will have it checked out. Luckily I know an honest mechanic, so maybe he can tell me whats wrong. Should'nt cost over $1000 to get it rebuilt. I will probably end up buying a used ****** with less miles.
