We did ok for the 1st event of the season. we qualified decent in a 9 boat field. It
was a 9.0 second dial in and we won the 1st round of eliminations due to a red light.
The second round both boats had almost identical reaction times but.......we broke
out with a 8.996 to a winning 9.015 et. It was a great race all the way to the finish.
I am willing to bet that the thousand spectator's were on their feet. Its a shame
because the final heat the losing boat ran a 9.50, we would have taken 1st fairly
easy.
A friend blew his boat over during the 2nd round of qualifying. He was air lifted vai
helicopter to STL and broke 3 ribs, seperated his leg from socket and fractured his
pelvis in 6 places. He is having surgury later this week, but we were told he has
high spirits.
The crash was also on fox news online and even made it over seas to UK and AU.
