downfiring 10

I'm gonna down fire sub in the hatch of a focus zx3. Doin this so it doesn't get smashed. I will b running a sony 10 so not huge excursion. My question is how much room do I need 2 keep it off the floor? And should I leave 2 sides open or just 1?

Use wooden blocks for the feet to leave all sides open and space it about three inches high and it should sound ok.
