Down firing setups

Hi all. I've always been interested in down firing setups. I'm just curious to know how they work in relation with your other setup chooses. And has a large high powered setup like that ever been done?

When I had an extended cab dakota in my younger days I ran 2 - oldschool fosgate 12's in a sealed box as a temp setup which sounded ok, then I got bored and built an mdf floor and modified the enclosure to downfire into it and it made a world of difference... Just depends on what you are trying to accomplish and in what kind of space / environment you are looking to do it in...
