Double din vs single din for sound quality

I would like to upgrade to a double din sometime in the future but am unsure about the tuning options. Are there many double dins that will compete with a 880 prs or eclipse 7100 as far as SQ goes? If i purchases a double i would want to make sure i wasn't sacrificing sound quality.

SQ in a head unit has many variables, with the most important being install. I think you can find dDins that perform better than sDins, and sDins that outperform dDins.

You can't really say that either one is flat out better than the other.
