double din in a civic?

Hey. I am helping a friend out and helping him install his system. He has a civic, i think 2003+ i know its not a 2006 model. He has this silver stereo in it with the aux in, came stock. i think it was a special edition or something. He wants to get a new kenwood double din dvd deal. should it be plug in play for mounting? or is there a dash kit? I haven't really seen a dash kit for a double din. Ive seen on some sites, but it looks bigger than the dash kits for a din and a pocket. please help. i want to tell him before ordering all the stuff.

yes there's an install kit, it normally comes in a package deal, i know mine did for my f150, it came with the din and a pocket, and the double din deal.

prolly shouda included this in the previous post, but there's no double din kit, but there's nothing a rotozip won't fix...lol

turn - i saw that kit, but it seems liek the civics have the curve on the bottom right corner.

well there is really no dd kit that will make it true oem. There is probably going to be some modification. Are you talking about the curve as in the whole front black panel? These dd kit only slides in where the deck is and basically seal off the edges. I think the 06 civic you have to actually replace the whole black panel.

this kit here he's is talking about a curve, I'm not sure is that what you're refering to. The pocket can be cut out no problem

think he has an si? i think he just has an ex. what consist of a si? that i would be able to tell the difference

larger radio? idk, there might be a few different components or "reinforcements" behind the radio that are different than any other model?
