Double Din for christmas

So, I made a thread earlier in the year asking about some double din units and now I've narrowed down to:

Alpine IVA-W205 with the blackbird $1200

Kenwood DNX7100 $814

Eclipse AVN5510 $800

- all prices are off of ebay

I need a good mix nav and dvd, and I'd prefer not to have to do any bypasing in order to watch a dvd while driving. Which of the three would you choose?

sadly of the three I would say Kenwood. Sadly because I recently just purchased an Alpine W205. I don't regret it as I think I can get better audio quality and adjustment features when I add the H701 controller, but for the average person and wanting an all in one package the Kenwood is definitely a nice unit.

I'm not exactly sure but I think all DVD indash units need to be bypassed in some way as the main reason for the initial lockout of features is "driver distractions"

^The kenwood requires only grounding as with the alpine you need a couple other pieces to make it work while driving.

Yea I'm still working on getting the PAC trigger module for my alpine, it is a must have as best I can tell I can't even set the clock without having it, or without hooking up the wires and going through the brake dance dealy to unlock the menu's.

For me personally I like all the additional inputs the kenwood comes with stock. USB and RCA inputs are nice as well I have heard the DVD video quality of the screen is better than the Alpines.

if you get the alpine i have the TR7 switch i can sell you to make it so you can use the screen while you drive

The alpine is "supposed" to have more megapix(1.5) but I think the picture quailty on the kenwood is better.

thats usually best, its really the only way your going to decide which one best suits your needs.
