doorpods or kickpanels?

ok guys, i kno alot of you have dealt with fiberglassing kickpanels/doorpods and all that. i have NO experience whatsoever with 'glassing. so i have some questions;

i have a set of XXX mids and was wondering should i get kickpanels built or just have doorpods made? also, could anyone give me a rough estimate of how much it would cost to get one made?

i do not have tweets at this time (still looking). i have an amp on the way (should be) and it'll be giving probly 125watts or a lil more to each mid.

what would be the pros/cons of the kickpanels vs doorpods? (besides the tweeter being close to the mid in the kickpanel).

if possible, would there be anyone willing to meet up and maybe be able to build them for me?

i would charge $150~300 to make a nice set of doorpods to a complete stranger depending on the finish (paint or carpet. and prolly the same for kickpods. i am willing to bet that is cheaper than a shop.

I also have the same question. I have read that putting 6.5" Mids in a kick panel is bad because of the kicks limited volume. Anyone care to elaborate?

You can make the kickpanels whatever size you like.

Lol, no. Not if you use enough.

It depends on the car (hense why I asked earlier), but in my experience kickpanels are going to have better imaging than doorpods, but will take up more foot space. It's personal preference really, and one doesn't sound better over the other.

I like doorpods more. Saves space and I think they look a little better, but it is probably easier to get the imaging you want with kick's. My car's a stick, so there's no room for kicks anyway.

I have looked but I cannot find the recommended size for Diamond Audio D661. Neither do I know if they should be sealed or backless.

ok well the car is in my sig (98 ford escort). the reason i was asking is because i have a set of xxx mids and will decide on tweets here shortly. doorpods would look nice and clean and i'd get to keep my foot space, but imaging would be better with kicks.

Req, that does sound like a **** good price for some nice work. i also hate going to shops cuz you don't kno the quality of the build, and the prices would be outrageous probly.

would there be anyone willing to fabricate either one for me?
