Door speakers for my car

I am looking at 2 pair of http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...Product_ID=999 to go in my 2005 Volvo S40. I was just wondering if this will work since there is a factory amp. Are the current speakers in the ran 4 ohm 1 ohm or what? Does anyone think they could help as if this could work, or know where I could find out? Any help would be great please.....

do you know what size the stock speaker size is?

you might have to take a look by either taking off the mesh/plastic front that covers the speakers or you might have to take off the entire door panel to take a look inside

regardless I'd suggest you rewire, and use another amp for whatever components or coaxials you end up using

The coaxils I plan to use are the 6.5" Memphis Mclass'. What amp do you suggest I power the 4 with. I currently have 2 JL 500/1 going to my subs....???

you might be able to get away with powering those through the stock amp, but I wouldn't even think about trying it

I believe those Memphis run around 50w RMS and will cost you roughly $100

CDT makes a coax set that runs for the same price but handles a bit more power, and I think it would be a better buy

as for powering them, (I don't know how much you're willing to throw at this) but for a relatively cheap price I would look at the Phoenix Gold R5.0 which is rated at 80w @ 4ohm
