door speakers distort when subwoofer is on

i cannot figure out why my door speakers are distorting when bass hits....this is only when the subwoofer is on...ive got fosgate 6x9s in all doors running off of hu power...my substage consists of a 18" sp4 on a saz3000...its running off of my (sub) rcas of course....my headunit is a kenwood double din (not sure which model)..my door speakers sound really good until i turn the sub on...then it sounds like theyre distorting...i know they cant keep up with all the bass, but even riding with my gain turned down they do not sound good at all

hpf at 80 and lpf at 80 adjust your gain on the sub amp so it doesn't distort. I bet your lights are all dimming too.... maybe worth upgrading your electrical and getting a 4 channel amp for your speakers.

the sub isn't distorting just my door speakers...ive gotta new g31 battery in the back, all 0ga wire, big 3 and amps gain is only at half for right now...and ive thought about going with a 125.4 for my speakers...but im gonna throw a xspower 3400 under the hood and another g31 in the back here soon...my voltage drop isn't too bad right now, but i know it will be when i turn my amp up

turn the gain down on your sub amp, it is draining the power from the rest of your electrical in the car. less pwr to the speakers will cause it to distort at lower volumes.... also turn your bass boost off and eq to flat or off.

bass boost is all the way down...even if my bass knob is all the way down i here distortion...my voltage rarely drops below 12.4 at full tilt even with my current electrical...even when im above 13volts i still hear distortion

i guess i need to play around with my eq?

EQ = OFF, LPF AT 80. don't use bass knobs. you can prob get to half volume on headunit pwr befor your speakers distort even without the sub in the car. i'd say get yaself a 4 chan amp and send them some real pwr.

the aftermarket headunit will only be putting 25wrms max to your 6x9 speakers, how much are they rated at? prob 50wrms? that maybe why it's sounding so crappy, they need more pwr

Okay thanks ill throw in a 4 chan whenever i get my other batteries...whats wrong with using a bass knob?...if i set my gains on the amp using a multimeter with the knob all the way up?
