throwin' hunnits, hunnits
I have the first piece to the puzzle, a Hifonics Bxi1210D amp. Now I'm wanting to upgrade my subwoofers and box. I have a Regular Cab Dodge Dakota, currently with two 12's, in 0.5-0.7 cbf boxes. Each sub is getting 450 watts, when they are rated at 300 RMS. So here's my options...
-Two 12" subwoofers. They would have to be in slim, low airspace subs (hard to this in 12"), in small boxes (one behind each seat), wired for a 2 ohm load getting 450 watts each (would be nice for the subs to be rated about the same).
-Two 10". Same as above but in 10". 10's are easier to find in slim, low airspace configurations.
-One 12". Huge *** box spanning from one seat to the other(?), wired to 2 (900 watts) or 1 ohm (1200 watts) load, so rated about the same to take all that power.
-One 10", same as above but in 10".
Now, I like how a sub behind each seat feels, when the bass smacks the seat making it vibrate, but I'd probably get that effect with one really powerful sub anyway.
Kind of on a budget too. I know everyone says the box is the most important thing, I wouldn't want to have a box made without knowing what I'm going to put into it. This is my daily and to be honest, I want it to be ridiculously loud. Louder than a regular cab pickup should be. But I want to go with some nice gear so it sounds good. So sound quality is important.
Recommendations?
