Maybe your missing the toliette and dont notice. That could be a reason why it smells.

Mine smells after a hard night of drinking, you can just smell it while pissing

Ive left piss in the toilet for 24+ hours, no smell

The only time I get this is after a night of drinkin'. I'll wake up the next morning and take that minute-long piss and it reeks. Also very yellow which I believe means you need to be rehydrated.

Any urine that sits in one place for too long will get smelly.

Sometimes I notice while pissing that my urine has a very distinctive nasty smell to it, and other times not so much.
