ok, so i tried using a calculator to figure out my port(height, width, length) and this is what came out... does this look right? i dont know if i did it wrong or not, just liiks to be an awfully small port from what i have seen around...

Net Volume: 10.5 cubic feet

Tuning Frequency: 35 Hz

Port Width: 2.5 inches

Port Area: 48.75 Square Inches

Port Length: 4.5 inches

10.5x14 = 147

i get most things car audio, but about ports and tuning, i have NO CLUE whats going on... and i hate it, not understanding pizzez me off!

i get the original number you got...4.5" long using a 48.75sq" port.

this will have a lot of turbulance. go with something larger...somewhere in the range that ultimate was talking about. i don't know the height/width of you box so it kinda hard to know how many sq" you will go so it's even harder to firuge out how long it will need to be. one thing for sure, doing this will knock down your box size a great deal...for example...if you went with a a port that was 16h x 8w (i was trying to get 126sq", the average of the two number ultimate posted) you would have a 21" long port and that would be 1.64cu' of port displacement....something to think about.
