So today, whilst at work, this guy asks me about places that tint windows. So I tell him about the places I know and what kind of work they do and how much they charge, etc. Then I ask him if he or anyone he knows wants to buy a system. I tell him what I have and he's like, "Naw, I only mess with JL stuff." and i'm just like okay. that's cool cause jl makes some pretty good stuff. I told him i'm selling to upgrade and he says i should get some W6 or W7's and a 1000/1. I'm just like nah i'm getting some RE SX's and an orion 2500. He says i might as well get a JL 500/1 then since that amp isn't as good as one. It wouldn't be as many "true watts" as the JL. I'm just like, okay, this thing pushes 1800 easy @ 2ohm. Then he's like, WTF is RE? W6's would be way better! I try to tell him that there are plenty of subs that will get way louder than the W7 and sound lots better too, and that many many amps are the same quality and many are much better than JL amps. But nope. "Nothing compares to JL stuff."

He then told me, to give me an example of how sweet his 500/1 was, that he hooked it up to two RF 12" and two Kicer L7 12" and blew all four of them in 15 minutes, and it wasn't even turned up all the way.

I completely agree with this statement. At least judging by the price they charge for their products makes it seem that way.
