Well, I did the Big 3 today and installed the new alternator. I took it to Advance Auto Parts afterward so they could test it. The guy was confused with the additional alt and ground wires. He first hooked his machine up to the factory alt wire and got a 50 amp reading. He then switched it to the 1/0 gauge alt wire and got a 100 amp reading. I don't know if this is correct but he said you could add the two readings together for a 150 amp reading. I don't have my amp and sub installed yet though so he said with more of a load on it it would produce more amps. Does anyone know if what he told me is correct? Can it be accurately tested now or will I have to wait until my amp and sub is installed? I'm still waiting for my HD315 to be delivered so it may be a while.
I take back what I said about Dominick....he sent me the wrong alternator and has been dragging his feet to get me a replacement....not happy so far....
Bad luck with excessive was that I kept having alts die on me......and that was BEFORE I installed my stereo!
So, IMO......Iraggi and Excessive Amperage are not on my list of companies to deal with again.
