Does the type of DMM matter?

I do not have one for setting my gains so I was going to grab one off of eBay. Does it matter if it is a cheapo? What settigns does it need to have? Thanks for the help!

Agreed with wrench there easiest to work with. radioshack=$20 for one.

My father-in-law has a DMM that I can use. O just wanted to make sure that I did not need a fancy one with all the bells and whistles.
