Does the Subsonic filter need to be set on an Amp used for Hi's?

I have the crescendo 800.4 and it has subsonic filters for both sets of channels. I know what I set the other amp to for my sub, but what is it necessary for my Hi's?
Well subsonic filter is essentially a high pass filter for a subwoofer but it can be used for speakers if you wanna cut off the low frequencies from your speakers. Set it to around 100hz and move it down until you feel the bass from your speakers get muddy then move it back up a notch. What kind of speakers are you running?

polk audio db 6501

kenwood 6x8s

those are ran by the 800.4

set up the system with the subsonics dialed all the way down and the overall setup sounds real good

i wouldnt think you would be using it at all for your highs i would imagine you have the selector switch set to HP and have that adjusted to a certain point, if not then you have your passive crossovers doing whatever there set to for your highs if there components, otherwise it can be used as a bandpass mode maybe??

yes that's what I have channels 1-4 set on, HPF and about 120 hz. Dial for subsonic is all the way down. I will confirm with Crescendo tomorrow. Overall system sounds great and I set the amps at a volume of 35 out of 62. Have a Pioneer deh 610 bt and has 4v preouts. Eq is flat and no other enhancements at deck or amps as far as bass boost is used. Sub amp is about halfway. Channels 1 n 2 are halfway and channels 3 n 4 (rear fill), is a little more than a quarter of the way.

Also the sub level on deck is at 3 of 6.

on the crossover networks there is a + or - 3 for the tweeter and I have it at 0. I might play with a few things little by little and see what works best without distorting. Also have to confirm rather the protect lights on the crescendo amps are clip lights as well. Got no protect lights today while setting.

I feel the bass can get a little tighter and hit tighter, harder though it sounds great. I do also have the box facing the rear of the trunk and it's not 6 inches from end of trunk but more like about a foot or so, maybe a little more away from back of trunk

Since you are already high-passing those speakers, the sub-sonic filter is not needed. It would not hurt to set subsonic higher, but it won't really help either.
