The SPL guys always say keep the sub as far from the port as possible //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gifTotally doesn't matter. The only way it might would be if the sub was super deep and the motor interfered with the mouth of the port, but then it would also be too deep for the other side as well so the design would not work at all. The Sub pressurizes the air in the box, the pressure is what causes the air in the port to move. It doesn't matter where the sub is in the enclosure.
sweet, that was the answer i wanted to hear. How wide is the port? If less than 4" it shouldn't have an effect.
