im building 2 seperate ported boxes for my 4 12 cvrs 2 in each box does the length of the port change the tuning? the port is 2x16.5x16 which shuld be 34hz..any input would help..cant find anything anywhere that tells me if i need to change the length to acomadate 2 woofers...???

The box itself is tuned to a frequency. Tuning changes slightly by the displacement of the subs but not by much. If you accounted for displacement of 2 subs you are fine.

so i would say that im not a total beginner with boxes and installs so that being said.... i m making each box 4.1 ft3 before displacement...2 subs port of 2x16.5x16 should give me roughly 34hz..you guys wanna check my math please.. these are kicker cvr d2 12s any input on tuning or size or any testimonials would also be appreciated also im going to b running a diamond audio d5 1200.1 anyone know anything they could tell me about this amp would b great..

you plan on wiring for a final load of 1ohm correct? Not sure if its a misprint but it says on sonic site that the amp does 1200@2ohms

Diamond Audio D5-1200.1 (d512001) 1200 watts, Class D Monoblock

yea the amp is 1 ohm stable..i seen a few places that said 2 ohms also..but yea 1 ohm..i got a good deal so had to jump..if it sounds good maybe do another 1200.1...the set up is just to get me back in the swing of things..every few months change my set up..really want 2 zapco 1100.1s...or the ct sounds 900.1s...just ordered the jbl p660 compnets today..got a smoking deal...$92..doing memphis 300.4 on those..

i just dont want to spend all the time to build boxes to take apart 3 times to adjust the port length..ya knw..

thats why you do it right the first time and you will not have to change the port.

and why are you doing 2 boxes? instead of 1.

You're not going to know until you test with a meter. Typically even carpeting a box as opposed to painting is going to lose a few tenths.
