The reason for several runs of 1/0 gauge is simple - in DB Drag some classes do not allow a second battery in the rear of the vehicle. So to reduce voltage drop, they use more runs to maintain a higher voltage. Good 1/0 cable will handle 300A no problem, some even higher( //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif )
At any rate since you have a battery in the rear of the car and a 200A alternator, one run would be fine. A second run would have a slight improvement. Any more then two would not have any noticeable gain with your system. You probrobly will not even pull the max 400A through the cable because of the second battery in the rear will absorb most of the spike and the ALT max output is 200A . I would put a clamp meter on it and see what numbers you get at the front battery/ALT/Rear battery under loads.
