Does it matter where you cut the sub hole?

Hey guys, I decided on a design for my sub box. The last thing I have a question for is if the plan has the whole cut on the side, can I cut it on the top? Would that change anything?

I guess to clarify I would but the sub cutout on the "Bottom side"

i would put the cutout on the same side as the port opening. should load more evenly on the cone.

Kinda depends on the vehicle too. Some people have the best luck with sub up and port back.

Generally, it is best to have sub on same side as port though

Ah yeah, the only reason I would like to do it that way is because I want the 15.5" to be my height and the 12" to be my depth.
