Does it matter what type of RCA cables you use?

I bought the Rockford Fosgate RFK4 amp kit and it didn't come with RCA cable. Can I just use my old RCA cable? Does the RCA cable make a difference in sound? Or should I buy a new RCA cable?

well u can re use ur rca every one does it...but rcas arnt something to be a cheap guy on...like the saying goes u get what u pay for

You can use your old rca's I am using my old ones. It rely dose not matter unless you are getting noise threw your speakers than it matters.

As long as they're not absolute shit, and you get no noise, they're good enough. Knu Konceptz Karma SS RCA's are nice and cheap.

Monster is over rated IMO so I would go with stinger or Kicker

These are nice cables. I have used a set myself, and a friend has a set of them, also. Good quality for the price.

just get a cood cable with good sheilding, no need to pay $50 for a 12ft rca

I was thinking the same thing. I have Brand new Stinger Hyper Series Rca'a and I was thinking if they were good enough:crazy: for my soon to be Sundown 3000D. But I guess I'll use em now

May I ask why?

1.) the connectors on them grasp most rca plugs WAY too tightly. this can be very bad in some situations. some installers here have that the ground jackets come off off the amps plugs when unplugging the rca's

2.) their method of noise cancellation is just twisted pairing. they emit as much noise into the system than those 10 dollar walmart rca's alot of people bring in to the shop to get installed.

3.) I have seen a few with moisture developing inside the jackets in the middle of the cable. turned out there were leaks in the black splitting ends on the cable. i wouldnt use these in a marine application.

4.) the o-rings this cable uses to ID each plug pops off the connector ends and get lost, i have seen guys installs brought in with no identification left, therefore yoou have to test each plug on the cable to find that plug is for what.

for the money, stinger is the way to go IMO and in my experience

(i am only talking about those karma rca's btw)
