alternatives to upgrading alternator?

oh well with 1200, id do the big three, and get a nice battery up front. them if dimming/voltage drop add a battery to the back. and like said above, a deka would work great.

thing is, ive got a pontiac, and GM cars are TERRIBLE when trying to do anything under the hood, i follow the wires down from the battery and they just disappear so i have no idea where the hell to even add the wire, the alternator is half hidden behind crap its complicated to do big three upgrade for my car lol

yea I ran into that problem when tryin to do the big 3 to my malibu, so I just said **** it
terrible aint it? so im just wondering if i should go with batteries instead of having to get a ho alternator, $300+, cant put it in myself, half under my engine, so mechanic fees

i got a Pontiac and it was not bad. what wires can you not find?
well its an 02, and i can find the battery pos and neg wires, not the engine block to chassis wire, and i cant find where the pos wire goes to my alternator, if i try to run my hand down it i lose it cuz it goes so far down so dont know where it ends up

either way, you should not be removing any wires when you do the big three. just add to what already there. your alt positive, should be coming off the bolt that's on the back of the alternator.

I ran an orion 1200d without the big 3 and only a yellow top under the hood. thing is i have a stock 130A alternator.. if budget is tight find someone around your area to help you out with the big 3 because it will be the cheapest and most efficient route for your car as well as your system

yes i know to add the wires not replace, but i cant find the pos wire on the alternator either, or the engine block to chassis

mine is a stock 105 amp alt.

Well, in the 95 Grad Prix, there's a 2" foam plug on the driver side inside the hood, not too hard to see/access. It looks like it was designed to run some wires through when cut into. I cut an X into it and ran my wires through, ends up under the dash, above the braking pedal about 18", moved over to the side and ran 2 runs of 4AWG to the back through the lining, as well as a Cat 5e cable being used for my audio from head unit and REM. Hope this helps.
