Does it matter what gauge wire i ground with?

I have two amps strapped running on the same 1/0 power wire, but only there is only enough 1/0 ground wire for one amp. Can i just use 4gauge wire to ground each individually, or can i ground one with 1/0 and the other with 4? Ill be getting a power distributor to run both 4gauge wires to a single 1/0 if thats necessary. Thanks

If they are the same power you need to ground them the same, your ground is just as important as your power.

the ground wire is very important. look at how many problem occur b/c ppl don't use the proper ground, buzzing noise, ground loop, poor sound quality etc.... don't skimp on your ground.

basic rule of thumb is your ground should at least match the input gauge for power. using an improper grounding gauge is like using a 30A inline fuse for an amp that draws 60A...it ain't gonna work

maybe for burps but a 30A fuse isn't going to hold up for a daily

They are kx 1200.1 . two of them. Im running them both on 1/0 power wire, but the ground is not close to long enough for both
