Does internal baffle placement affect performance?

So, im planning a new box build. I was wondering if internal baffle/bracing ( not corner bracing) would affect SPL, or performance?

I have seen some boxes, mostly home audio, where there are baffles or bracing have holes cut it in it.. Some designs have multiple baffles in a row, spaced out.

Does placement matter?

I think you are referring to what is called window bracing. It's like having a divider with the center cutout...I would just place one in the center between the subs...This type of bracing is strong because it ties all 4 sides of the enclosure together and it shouldn't affect the performance.

You're not going to know until you test with a meter. Typically even carpeting a box as opposed to painting is going to lose a few tenths.
