depending on where you live digging your own can **** major balls. Like here in texas after about 6 in i hit clay, **** that. My dad has post hole digger kinda like this but as you can see they are a little pricy for just digging holes.

they do have augers(sp) that u can rent at HD....i must say that if your ground has alot of river rock or clay, u want the 2 man auger.

what size fence posts do you have? arent they like 4"? get some 4" PVC and cut it 12"+ long and pound them b*tches into the ground then take your water hose and flush all the water out of them. Boom! post holes. idk if that will work, i just made it up, first thing i could think of
