Does DSL **** that bad or am I missing something?

Guess timing of my post was off ...i would never say that coaxe is faster than fiber ...my response was towards the dsl VS.cable ....and yes there has been talks of wireless for a year are so now ...talk of fiber to the house has been "up"in there air for years ..

fiber optic > coaxial cables/wireless > DSL > 56K ???

Blindly saying cable is better than DSL is not correct at all.

Some areas you can get cable only up to 1.5mbps. Others you're up to 20mbps. Same can be said with DSL, which can go up to 6mbps IIRC.

You also have to look at individual companies to see their policies on content filtering, usage limits, and traffic monitoring.

Therefore Fiber > dsl/cable > dialup.

X2, I would never say that either is better. For my needs, DSL is better, because I have access to it, and I don't have a bunch of people sharing one larger connection. I also don't need to upload a lot, so speeds are fine over cable. It's Wireless/Fiber Optic>Fiber Optic>Coaxial Cable>Twisted pair DSL> 56k

And this is off a router.. to my laptop. Sure it'd be better on my desktop, straight from the modem.
