Does DSL **** that bad or am I missing something?

At home on cable I get ~450kbps d/l's, at work on DSL I get ~60kbps via Rapidshare d/l's.

There's nothing the home office is doing to the network, like capping it or anything- they don't even monitor it.

If you have a fiber optic line then yeah...cable would be WAY faster.
lol fiber optics has NO CAP SPEED. which means you get it as fast as the server can give it. There is no loss of information through fiber optics and right now it's expensive as hell but will someday become the standard.

Cable is faster period ...we carry more bandwith in the coaxel cable ....now a day theres really no need to have fiber to the curb ...the HFC system is so much smaller and we run much higher freq across it now ...we have what we call direct fiber links ...to hospitals,tv statio etc ...its a much tighter system now ...and yes i do work for a cable company
