Does bass really damage hearing......interesting read.

i have my hearing tested every two years for my physical when i was 16 i got tested and was 100% in both ears, i got my next test last year at 18 I got 40% hearing in my left ear and 80% in my right. They asked if I had any loud hobbies, like shoot guns, fireworks, loud music. I told them I have a system and I like to listen to loud music every now and then. They told me to sell my subs and listen to music a lot softer. I said what if I dont. They told me they might see me in the next ten years for hearing aids.

Yeah I call BS cause I have met TONS of people that were around loud things all their life and hearing is fine even at 70. and I have met a good amount of people at 50 that always protected their hearing and are almost completely deaf. I think it is very person dependent. Also as I said before. I think maybe at one point I had loud highs and every time I would get out of the car I would have muted hearing. Everything sounded attenuated by a good amount. Got rid of them and my hearing seem to get better( I am not sure hearing can heal itself) but I always remember having trouble hearing while I had those highs... Since then no loud highs and no hearing problems. I have gotten out of my truck many times and was able to hear a whisper (now i am not going to say I didn't have a "drunk" feeling. That is from the pressure killing all the brain cells... oh baby does it feel good

in the course of the last year that i was pushing about 145+ dB's i lost about 5dB of hearing sensitivity all around. This was taken from an annual hearing test for my job......

sucks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif fortunately my hearign is still within the "normal" range of hearing, but it's tinkering on the range's edge before it jumps into the next catagory for most of the frequencies measured. For the most part my hearing is okay. Every now and then when there's lot of ambient noise it's hard to hear voices/sounds as the louder noise is the only thing that registers i guess.

Take it from me, you dont have to listen to it full blast all the god **** time.
