If not it is being logged as evidence and should be released to you after your case is finalized, assuming it has no link other than transport of the stolen tools. If so they can argue it was purchased with illegal means and seize it. Is there a loan on the car through a bank? this will determine how hard they will pursue taking the car. In the end the bank will get it back. As far as the equipment inside, it will stay with the car. If it has been logged including serials then it was used to determine if your audio gear was stolen as well.
