Does a box with 2 10's need air holes?

i think you are a retard
No, he's just ignorant on sub enclosures.

I'm sure you don't know the first thing about quantum physics (or some other field...), but that doesn't make you a retard, now does it?

OP, check out the stickies at the top of this forum. The "portholes" you are talking about are characteristics of ported boxes, while the box you have is sealed (most likely). It's very unlikely that you will just be able to drill a hole into it, so you'll either need a whole new box or you need to keep it as it is.

If you have a box already, you don't need to change it as long as it works with your particular subs. A dual chamber box is not necessary, but it is nice to have if you don't have a box yet.

As for ports, those are not just holes in the box. They are tubes basically. These will make your enclosure more efficient, and thus louder on less power. However, the type of music you listen to, how loud you want to be, and especially how your sub is designed all play factors in whether or not a ported enclosure is a good idea. Ports are tuned to a certain frequency, and are a lot more than just cutting holes in a box. There is a bit of math involved, and several variables that will decide how the end product functions.
