that truck should have a 318 or a 360 in it, and both are really good motors. 11 - 14 MPG is about right depending on how you drive it. The ***** might be 727 torqueflight, which is one of the best automatics around. should be great deal, and like regal said, if it runs nice and drives straight its worth a grand.
look into the brakes and make sure they work, because it is harder to stop something than move it.

It could possibly have a 225 Slant-Six it in as well - which isn't a terrible thing as the slant-6 was likely one of the better inline 6-cyl motors ever built. Right along with the 300ci 4.9L Ford straight-six.

gave him $700, he had a few guys standing there wanting to buy it, and i was already planning the install (its got a pio cd player in the dash and the ac works //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif ), so i wasnt gona lose it trying to save $80 or so.

sputters a little when i step on the gas, guy said hes been trying to solve it for a while, but didnt kow why it was doing it?

any ideas why it might 'sputter' / kinda mis-fire, not bad but there.?

This is a long shot but I recently had that problem with my Dakota.. Turned out to be the throttle. Was actually a sensor but I'm sure they're completely different. But the throttle body will be probably your best candidate.

its got a place for a 6x9 on the passengers side dash. think ill put a jbl 6x9 in there off a 300watt amp and call-it good.

no idea exactly what size the motor is?

but i popped the hood and theres lots of room in there for me to work.

I'm sure most old trucks could be put through a bomb and be a motor swap away from working.

My dad's 83 150 is still kicking. My neighbor bought it off us when my dad died. Body is slowly going but the frame and motor are still there. Great find.
