1/8 = 0.125

1 second = 1/3600 of an hour

6.629 ET - 1.229 reaction time = 5.4 seconds

0.125/(5.4/3600) = 83.3 MPH average speed

14 second 1/4 mile (supposedly) - 6.6 seconds = 7.4 seconds for the second 1/8 mile ...

0.125/(7.4/3600) = 60.8 MPH average speed

its anamosity because we have a car which most people can only dream of being able to afford. anyone can go out and buy a beater mustang for 200 bucks and say look at me im fast! not every kid can go out and buy a 50k new and 20k now lux coupe and still be able to dust their ricer wanna be sports car. mustangs until recently with the redesign went the way of a merc cougar. in the 60s nice muscle car late 70s pos 80s still pos 90s because it cant keep up with the fbodys and compete it has to go to rice to try and pull away from the asian market. like i said a mustangs only a small step above a ricer and thats because at least 60% of it is built in the us and canada

Also speaking of that. Name a few cars faster in production in 1996. Hmm, Firehawks, the LT1 Vettes, and umm well that's all I can think of besides supercar s (Ferraris, ect.).
