Check Engine Light is on!!!

check engine can come on for a lot of reasons. the most common is for emissisons. aka: exhaust leaks or problems that are usually meaningless. however, it can also be transmission, low oil, or a misfire. best thing to do is go to your nearest napa, or discount auto parts and just ask them to scan the car for you. they do it for free and can tell you right there what the code is. the light has to be on for them to scan it. hope this helps.

I got a new engine and the same thing happens. Its a sensor... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I get a light sometimes, on and off...

Don't have OBDII, so I just have to guess by what noise it's making //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

so i could go to a autozone or Struass (however you spell it) and ask them to check it?
Yep, AutoZone does it for free. I actually found a forum for cars like mine and there is a procedure I did with the key in the ignition to get my CEL codes.
AutoZone has the tool though, and it tells you precisely what's wrong with it. In my case, my car was overdue for some new spark plugs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif
