Is it just me or is this post hard to understand. Is person 2 saying that RE speakers are made for SPL and not SQ?
Person 1:
My mistake I could have sworn that RE had a statement saying the XXX was for SQ. I guess I confused it with the SX. Sorry. Hopefully the 16ov.2 will outperform the SX in SQ and if possible SPL. SQ always comes first in my book though.
Person 2's response:
RE may be very happy with the XXX, the SE, or the SX as whatever label they put to it.
For whatever it's worth. The XXX and the Ov.2 are just two very different breads of loudspeaker. I don't think RE would ever build anything like a Ov.2, and I don't think we'd ever build anything like a XXX, not becuase there's one right way to do it, they just are going to sound different, and have a different overall feel. The two companies just do things differently.
Again, doesn't make one the right way. Just means they are different.
