I believe there is a God but I choose not to follow any organized religion.
Wiki:

A religion is a set of tenets and practices, often centered upon specific supernatural and moral claims about reality, the cosmos, and human nature, and often codified as prayer, ritual, or religious law.

Hebrews 10:15-17

15And the Holy Spirit also testifies to us; for after saying,

16"THIS IS THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THEM

AFTER THOSE DAYS, SAYS THE LORD:

I WILL PUT MY LAWS UPON THEIR HEART,

AND ON THEIR MIND I WILL WRITE THEM,"

He then says,

17"AND THEIR SINS AND THEIR LAWLESS DEEDS

I WILL REMEMBER NO MORE."

That says to me that the Holy Spirit will tell each person, that accepts the gift of grace, personally the level of dedication excepted by God. So that completely does away with any set beliefs that you have to do this or that then you will be saved. I think religion is a tragedy on a scale much larger than anyone really comprehends. I mean think about it our country(America) is being torn down in it's moral values mainly, I believe, because the body of Christ is too busy bickering with each other, saying "WE ARE RIGHT!! ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED!!" or "NO WE ARE RIGHT!! YOU MUST LIVE COMPLETELY HOLY!!", to get outside of those walls they call the church and DO SOMETHING BEFORE AMERICA DISAPPEARS... Thats my 2 pennies on that one.

I don't feel it's necessary for me to go into detail, and that's what I pulled off the back of my head. America was founded on Christianity, but it's a person's constitutional right to have freedom of religion. I used to get in trouble in school for now standing for the pledge. Don't get me wrong, I'm very patriotic, I even have a Bald Eagle and our Red White and Blue tattooed on my arm, but i didn't stand because it says "One nation under God". I think that contradicts our right to choose religions, and religion shouldn't be spoke about in public schools.
I think of all the religions Christianity was the most successful therefore, America is one of the most successful countries. I don't like organized religion but where would our country be without it. Also most of my Christian friends are at heart very good people.

False dichotomy.

To all of you who said you believe in God but not religion, do you believe what the Bible says? By the way, I believe in God, I know and love Jesus Christ, but I also hate the term "religion" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif. Religion is a set of rules and traditions that most of the time have nothing to do with what God has commanded of us. I am very active in church and have a great number of Christian friends, but I do not call myself religious. Plainly put, to be religious is to try to please man with your worship. If you truly believe in and love God, then your actions and mentality will eventually mirror his, and not what your church or religion says is okay. (/sermon)

Freedom of religion meant freedom to worship God(Almighty)... People were made to worship the king instead of God so they made their own country where they could worship God. That is the definition of freedom of religion, but of course Lucifer twists everything for his advantage.

You have to remember that this planet is billions of years old, not thousands as the bible suggests. A lot can happen in that amount of time. Hell, the first known human is dated at more than 6 million years old.

I don't like the Bible...it has one set of rules for some people...another set of rules that for some reason don't matter any more....etc. Why am I supposed to love God?

Let's not get this twisted. This country was founded to make money, not to practice religion. And the men who eventually made the colonies into a nation weren't even christians, they were deists.

The church is man's interpretation of how we should praise God...not God himself. Organized religion has way too many rules.
Some churches are like that. There are plenty that teach expositorily....that is, straight out of the Bible, seeking to explain the text in a way that applies to us today. If you teach straight from the Bible, then there is no room for interpretation of the principles set forth by God himself. God made the rules, not man.

The bible suggests no such thing. In fact the bible doesn't call a day until the 4th verse in Genesis. Plus who is to say that God did not use evolution to create humans and everything else on this planet. Although scientist did find a six million year old shark still alive not to long ago.......
