If it weren't for the French, there would be no USA. We would still be bowing to a queen. The French are our oldest traditional ally and were largely responsible for the founding of this country and driving the british out of what is now the USA. They helped us in our Revolution against the British, and later our movement of Liberty and Republican Gov't led toward a French Revolution and established the modern French Republic.

They gave us the Statue of Liberty as a gift to celebrate our close ties, strive for Liberty and Revolutions born out of blood.

They gave us french fries.

They gave us wine.

They gave us many of the words we now consider english.

They gave us Louisiana and the Missisipi.

And there greatest gift to the world. Respected French anchor woman Melissa Theuriau.
