You might be able to get a 6.5" spider that has higher rolls than normal for more excursion but I would think it would put extra stress on the spider itself. Possibly causing it to rip under higher power.
Either way not so hot of an idea. You could probably take a 10" basket and weld an adaptor plate onto the top and use a 10" assembly with a 8" cone and surround. Would look goofy and be a 10 with the effect piston area of an 8. But you could say you did it then I suppose.
