I have a 15" L7 (2005 model). Currently, it has all 4 tinsel leads soldered back where the leads connect to the terminals. All 4 of them broke, and I soldered all 4 back and they have all held.

About a week ago my sub started cutting in and out again like it did when the tinsels were about to break. I took the sub out, checked it, and the tinsels appeared solid. Well my sub finally went out 2 days ago. Took it out and a tinsel broke once again, but this time it is right near the "head" of the tinsel where it connects to the cone. I do not think soldering it will fix the problem this time..

Any ideas? Or is this sub pretty much done for?

You may have to be real careful and solder them back together at the cone and glue them to the bottom of it, or pull out the old one into the bottom of the dustcap and put a new on there and then solder and secure.
