do they make recones for assassins?

1. Reconing involves utilizing the same motor, aka YOUR assasin motor2. The BTL Motor itself is larger than 8" in diameter

3. Scott won't make an 8" subwoofer with a 3" coil.

4. Uh durr.

I was talking about if I blew the asain ***... I could maybe talk scott into making me an 8 utalizing the BTL motor and building a special box... I know, 65lb motor on an 8... w00t? if someone can take a 4hp neo motor and make a 10 out of it, why not an 8?

Not saying that it wouldn't work, just that there would be something on the order of zero gained from doing it. You don't need a motor that big to get everything out of an 8. The piston area isn't big enough for the pressure to become insurmountable for a smaller motor. Like the 427 Cobra, there comes a point where bigger is just bigger. It doesn't perform as well because the motor is too much for the rest of the setup.

so the best 8 I could really get is a D9508?

What would a BTL motor have to do with you blowing an asian?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

a 3" coil leaves little usable spider for suspension movement on a 6.5" spider commonly found in 8s.

If you want a motor bigger than the cutout all you need to do is mount the basket to a baffle before assembling. Just hope you never break or strip out the baffle it's mounted to. Little point to it though.
