do subwoofers at low volume make bass deeper

i have punch hx2 12'2 and a jbl 1200.1 amp pushing them...why is it when the volume is down the bass it like so much stonger it kills your head more at a low level then when its up

maybe bass cancellation...

maybe your mid+tweeter amp gains are high, and it's louder than the bass itself?

could it be that my amp is not getting all the power it need.. i know that my battery gauge dose not move... i have a 130 alt and a red top op battery as well

you can forget about mentioning about batteries, unless your alt's producing less than 12 volts, and then the batt would hav eto compensate for the lack of power..

the batt would only come into play if there is no juice from the alt..i.e., ignition off.

Your batt gauge wouldn't move if your alt was working properly.

Hmm, 130amp alt... shouldn't be much of a problem. You don't use all the elctrical components at once either... i doubt it's electrical problems.

you should buy a cap works a lot better then just running it from the battery. I had the same prob, bought a 1frd cap no more prob, enough power to rattle you head at any level.

first off, post the question once nad once only...

secondly - could be a voltage issue, could also be a clipping issue...

when you turn teh volume up too high, you could be causing the subs to distort... if that happens, they will not be as loud
