I bet if you were to call up RE, or Nathan from EA, that they would have been much more professional like. But when you get pissy with them on the internet, nobody is going to be very professional. For the record, I own an HO alt from Nathan, and it works perfectly.
But this situation is a little rediculous. IceTeeBone has the right to be upset, this is now THREE alternators he has been through that do not function properly. If I paid $300+ for a product (which I did for my alt) I would expect a working alternator the first time. Three tries is un-needed, how hard is it to correct a problem the first time? Although IceTeeBone could go about this very differently, it is perfectly understandable for him to be upset.
His Bonneville idles at a very low rpm and it is difficult to get some specific high output alternators to turn on at that idle speed. The alternator does charge, it just does not turn on at his idle speed.
