Do Not Buy From Excessive Amperage!!

it does, usually between 800-1000 rpms
I have a 200 amp alt in my monte carlo, it was rewound a couple years ago by a local shop.

It holds up *extremely* well, but below ~1000 RPM, it doesn't put out much power... and this is how every big alt I've seen is... whether it be excessive/OG etc... the only ones i've seen anything at idle are the big stock ones. If your fluctuating at idle, the alt is probably on/off/on/off, or at least putting out just a little bit of power.

As long as you have a solid battery system, the alt will offset the vehicle's pull enough to keep the car goin almost indefinitely... I've never had any issues in the monte, going through traffic etc... I don't even pay attention to it anymore. I'd imagine some vehicles pull more than others at idle, and the alt can keep up with some, can't keep up with others.

Doesn't sound like a big deal, its part of having a big alt.

it also flucuates when sometimes when driving. i might just let it go and see what happens

ok let me update the situation. i decided not to send it too nate because he sent me back 2 bad alts before so i took it too a local shop, and they said something like a diode or something was fried. they fixed it and also ran a bench test and said it only put out 160 amps. this is all what they told me so that is what i'm going by. i got wind he is having a group buy on roe. so i contacted him there. he then says he will do what it takes to make the alt right. i requested can i send it back to him, so he can check it out and see if and why it doesn't do 250 amps. he has then ignored me.

turn to Mean Green or Iraggi ask them to fix it?
i'd be better off just buying another one and scrapping this one

Do you have a probelm with my alternator ?

i did but i had it fixed by a local alternator shop cause you never got it right.

What was the problem with it ? You can contact me about it instead of saying I build ****.

i'm not an alt wizz, but i think he said the diodes were bad or something like that. this was my 3rd alternator so i chose to pay someone else to fix since you couldn't get the first 2 right. really pisses me off cause i got over $400 invested in this alt minus my time. i'm done venting so i'll edit my post
I understand you being upset. If it had bad diodes, it would have shown up on my tester and they usally make a high pitch sound when one or more is bad. If you have any further problems with it, Let me know and I will take care of it to make up for your time and expenses.

it was making a whining sound and the volts kept flucuating so finally i decided to take it to a shop and he said something about the diodes
If you have any problems in the future please let me know. " i'm done venting so i'll edit my post" - That would be nice.

i don't know how to edit my post on these forums.
Damage is already done anyways. Just had 3 people drop out. Thank you.

eh if you would've made me a good alt the first or second time i wouldn't have made that post and would've recommended you when people ask for HO alts, like i do for mean-green. also why not another group buy an caraudio.com? too afraid because of all the people who got screwed over?

I dont know what your problem is, I just offered to fix any problems on your alternator in the future at NO COST TO YOU ! I am having a SECOND group buy on here because I was asked to, if you read the first post you will see it. I dont hold grudges against people and I dont have a problem with you. I get about 99% positive feedback on my products. Out of over a thousand alternators built last year, I had about 12 come back for repair, and most of those were defective parts that can not be forseen. If I cannot help you in any way then please dont take up any more of my time - If I can help you in the future, I will be more than glad to in any way I can.

Sincerely,

Nate

my reply

ok here's the deal. the shop told me it is not putting out 250 amps, wich makes me even more pissed. idk how they test the alts, it's just what he told me. now can i send it back to you, and you take a look at it? also i don't want to pay return shipping. i noticed it only charges at 13.5 volts wheras my stock does 14.5. i don't know if i still have the original receipt. anyways you probably know who i am. i am iceteebone from ca.com. if you send me back a good alt, i'll ask a mod to delete my post, and make a new one endorsing your alts. i didn't send it to you last time cause i was sick of sending it in and getting a bad one back. if you would take a look at it, and bench it for me that would be great. i also noticed you put on the group buy thread that you do different pulleys for better charging at lower rpms? could that be done to mine?
i know he has read it but chooses not too respond.
