Hey guys i jus got my 2 Alpine Type R;s 12" dual 4ohm, im ognna wire them to 1 ohm form my hifonics brutus, its a bx1800d, 1800x1 rms @ 1 ohm. Do you think if i have 1800w going to these it will be anough to get loud, or should i get a more powerful amp, i know the rms on the subs are only 500w rms each tho, so get abck to me, thanx!

That amp most likely wont do 1800 rms...

He has two subs.... Two DVC subs, wired in parralell = a 1 ohm load.

And dont expect 1800w from that amp at all.

And the others are right, you do not need twice the RMS nearly to get loud. And from what I have seen, there are conflicting reports on whether or not the amplifier will put out rated power. Some show the BX1500d put out right at it, some show it put out less, I would imagine the 1800 is the same way. Either way you should be getting at least rated coil handling power to the drivers. im sure you have plenty of power. i have a bx1605d and thats plenty for those subs for daily drivers IMO.
